After a 20 hour journey it’s soo good to be here!
We flew via Dubai on an A380 – by far the best flight I’ve ever been on. It’s quiet, spacious and has free wifi (which brought Chris much happiness, along with the banning of exploding Samsung phones from all flights). The first 7 hours flew by ?
We stretched our legs, walking the length of Dubai airport. Then onto another 7 hour plane journey (not an A380 ?) to KL.
At this point we’d had no sleep and the Pret baguettes we had at Heathrow were a distant memory after countless bland plane meals. KL couldn’t come soon enough. Aah, some fresh, humid air!
We’re staying at the Traders hotel, which was an excellent choice ? Free honeymooners upgrade to a suite: check, freepour cocktail hour with amazing views: check!
Day 1 involved trying to stay awake til bedtime. Conversation during the last hour of cocktails was lost on the both of us.
Day 2, 86 floors up, enjoying the view from the Petronas Towers (the iconic twin towers that put Kuala Lumpur on the map), then the bustling malls and market streets of KL.
Lunch in “Greyhound.” They ask you to take a selfie including one of their dishes, then post it to social media. For this you get a free stationery set:
On the neighbouring table, a lady spent the whole meal taking selfies of herself and her food. The selfie craze has well and truly hit KL – everyone’s at it.
In the evening we had dinner in the park under the Petronas Towers, next to the “Symphony Fountains” which are quite dazzling:
Lovely to hear of your adventures, please keep them coming, Nan thinks its wonderful! Sending lots of love to you both from Linda, John and Nan xxx
